Welcome to Tiger Country and welcome back to the 2022-23 school year! I am delighted to serve the Tynes Elementary community as your principal.

At Tynes Elementary we provide quality instruction in a safe, orderly and nurturing environment. We maintain high academic expectations for ALL students and work to develop a sense of responsibility for themselves, one another, and their community.

We are a comprehensive pre-k to sixth grade school, and our students are provided with appropriately rigorous grade level instruction in English Language Arts (ELA), mathematics, science and social studies using the adopted Clay County curricula. Our resource team provides instruction in art, music, technology, media, and physical education. In addition, we offer a variety of clubs and activities including chorus, track, and safety patrol to allow students opportunities to have leadership roles in their school community outside of academics.

The Tynes Elementary area is booming with growth, but the feel on campus is warm and welcoming. We are committed to Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and work to help students grow into lifelong learners and responsible citizens. You will see and hear the phrase Tiger P.R.I.D.E. all over our campus. Tynes Tigers know this acronym stands for Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Effort. Students and staff members are recognized for demonstrating these traits.

Another unique characteristic of Tynes Elementary is our high percentage of students who are connected to active duty military. We have a full time Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) through the Department of Defense who works to support our students and their families in all stages of deployment.

We are excited to continue to collaborate with our students, parents, caregivers, business and faith partners, and the community to educate our children. We look forward to welcoming visitors and volunteers back into our building and to establishing an active School Advisory Committee (SAC).

Our school motto is: ROAR with P.R.I.D.E. This means our students, staff, and faculty are expected to demonstrate our Guidelines for Success of showing Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Effort in everything they do. Students are challenged and rewarded every day in this rich learning environment. In addition to the core subject areas of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, Students at Tynes Elementary School have the opportunity to participate in art, music, PE, Science Lab, Technology, and Media Tech.

Families and community members are so important to our success at Tynes.. Parents are welcome additions, and we always look forward to seeing parents in classrooms engaged in meaningful work to enhance the education students are receiving. All parents are encouraged to get involved with various committees at work including our School Advisory Council (SAC), as well as other opportunities to volunteer and be a part of Tiger Country.

Every student at TES has access to a chromebook laptop to support individualized learning and 21st century learning through a wealth of digital curriculum. Every day students are engaged in highly rigorous learning through technology, collaboration, inquiry, and project-based learning.

I am so honored to be a part of this school and district. Thank you to all our staff, parents, and community members who make each day meaningful for the students we serve. Together, we are preparing our students to be leaders in the 21st century.
