Welcome to Tiger Country and welcome back to the 2023-24 school year!  I am delighted to continue to serve the Tynes Elementary community as your principal.

At Tynes Elementary we provide quality instruction in a safe, orderly and nurturing environment.  We maintain high academic expectations for ALL students and work to develop a sense of responsibility for themselves, one another, and their community.

We are a comprehensive pre-k to sixth grade school, and our students are provided with appropriately rigorous grade level instruction in English Language Arts (ELA), mathematics, science and social studies using the adopted Clay County curricula.  Our resource team provides instruction in art, music, technology, media, and physical education.  In addition, we offer a variety of clubs and activities including chorus, track, and safety patrol to allow students opportunities to have leadership roles in their school community outside of academics.

The Tynes Elementary area is booming with growth, but the feel on campus is warm and welcoming.  We are committed to Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and work to help students grow into lifelong learners and responsible citizens.  You will see and hear the phrase Tiger P.R.I.D.E. all over our campus.  Tynes Tigers know this acronym stands for Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Effort.  Students and staff members are recognized for demonstrating these traits.

Another unique characteristic of Tynes Elementary is our high percentage of students who are connected to active duty military.  We have a full time Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) through the Department of Defense who works to support our students and their families in all stages of deployment.

We are excited to continue to collaborate with our students, parents, caregivers, business and faith partners, and the community to educate our children.  We look forward to welcoming even more visitors and volunteers into our building and engaging with families to support your children’s education.

Assistant Principal, Tori Granese

Dear Families and Community members,

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the students, families, staff, faculty, and community of Tynes Elementary School as your Assistant Principal. My passion for education is deeply rooted in my belief that every student can succeed.

As a previous 3-6 grade English Language Arts and Mathematics educator, I understood the importance of rigorous, standards-based lessons that promote critical-thinking skills and aid in preparing all students for college/career, and the real world. In my time as an instructional coach, I guided the success of educators in building collaborative classroom environments that provided structure, held high expectations, and delivered engaging lessons with evidence-based strategies to secondary science students across the district.

My husband, two children, and I are proud to call Clay County home, and I take great joy in encouraging the next generation to become lifelong learners. I value the collaboration between families, the community, and all faculty/staff members to provide the best educational experience possible for all students. They say it takes a village to raise a child and I am excited to be a part of this village!

Kind Regards,

Tori Granese
